Useful plants for summer colour on free drained soil in sun. If cut back after the first flush you can get another flush of flower in autumn, or you can leave the first flush as attractive seedheads for the winter. Best dug, split and replanted every few years, 2-3 years on heavier soils and 4-5 on lighter ones.
Clumps of greyish green feathery foliage and stocky stems bearing elegant heads of pale yellow flowers in summer. More refined than many other forms. Drained soil in sun. 45cm.
Rather different to the more familiar cultivars, this species has bright silver foliage and clear yellow flowers on strong stems to 50cm. Neat clumps and an upright habit, suitable for drained soil in sun. Drought tolerant.
