(Geranium wallichianum 'Buxton's Variety' x Geranium himalayense 'Plenum' or 'Gravetye' depending on what you read and who you speak to!)

Probably the best known Hardy Geranium now, this modern hybrid has masses of large blue flowers with white centres from June till October or November. 45cm. Most soils in sun or light shade.

Undoubtedly a breakthrough in Geranium hybrids, Rozanne 'Gerwat' provides large flowers on a very long flowering hybrid with a striking pattern.  The foliage has faint marbling from Geranium wallichianum but is much larger and more abundant than that species making a substantial clump in good soil with plenty of moisture.  The flowers usually start in early June and flower well for about 8 weeks before slowing down during the hottest part of summer.  It might be worth cutting the plant hard back at this time to tidy it up, although it will continue flowering without, it often re-flowers better in September-November if it has been cut back.

Suitable for a wide range of conditions due to the diverse habitats of the parents, probably best in average soil in full sun, it tends to get a bit floppy in better soils or in shade.  Rozanne 'Gerwat' will peform well in shade, though it doesn't flower so well if it is particularly dry or dark.  In good, fertile and damp soil in sun it will get quite large, 60cm tall and 1m across.

Found by Donald and Rozanne Waterer and introduced  in about 2000 by Bressingham New Plants.  Annoyingly often mis-spelt Geranium Roxanne.

Geranium 'Jolly Bee' is now considered to be a synonym even though the two plants were sold side-by-side for several years and both were granted PBR by the EU (a requirement of which is that they be unique and the authorities are meant to check this!).
