(Geranium libani x Geranium ibericum ssp. jubatum)

A new form with showy blue flowers over broad green leaves in clumps. Drained soil in sun. 45cm. PBR.

An unusual hybrid as it's parents have quite different growth styles.  Forming a loose clump with a mass of glossy, fresh green, broadly divided leaves to 20cm and masses of flowers on stocky stems to 45cm in early summer.  Sabani Blue 'Bremigo' will often die back briefly after flowering due to having the tuberous, summer-dormant, Geranium libani as one parent.  It is important not to overwater it during summer dormant periods, but not to let it dry out either!  Ordinary, drained soil in full sun suits it well.  Again, due to it's parentage it usually grows a fresh set of leaves for the winter, it's a bit confused the poor thing!

The name Sabani Blue apparently came about as the breeder, Alan Bremner, was explaining it's parentage on the phone to the person who was to register the name and Alan's Orcadian accent led to a misunderstanding!  Hence the word "Sabani" was invented!
