A beautiful new French introduction with red flushed autumn foliage and dark flower stems that turn ruby in autumn. Very arching flowers to 1.8m. Good soil in sun.

We received this recent introduction from a keen grass grower in France in 2010 who was singing it's praises loud and clearly!  'Les Ponts de Cé' has won a Merit at the famous Courson show in France and it is also an ISU Award winner in 2014.

Modest clumps of rich green foliage and arching stems from July onwards to 1.8m.  The arch of the stems mean that the width of the plant at flower height is also about 1.8m, but there is plenty of space underneath the arching stems to plant low growing Geraniums!

The key point about this Purple Moor Grass is the remarkable colour of the stems.  They start a mid green with a purple-red tint in mid-summer but as the autumn approaches the stems become a distinct, and attractive, ruby red particularly at the point where the bend of the arch is greatest.  The seedheads turn a light straw also with red tints.  Striking.

Average to good soil in full sun.

Introduced by pépinières Lepage, France.
