Spires of bright magenta pink flowers in spring and early summer on this seemingly overlooked herbaceous perennial. Very hardy and easy to grow in ordinary soil in sun or light shade it gives a good display and has attractive seedheads too. 60cm.

With it's candelabra style of flower spikes it resembles one of the spring flowering candelabra Primulas - ideal for those who have too dry a garden to grow the primula!

Formerly Lychnis viscaria.
