((Geranium psilostemon x (Geranium x oxonianum)?)

Excellent Geranium psilostemon hybrid with large, broad-petalled soft magenta flowers, dark-centred. Reasonable soil in sun, summer. 45cm.

Geranium 'Ivan' is a rather distinctive Geranium psilostemon hybrid.  The black centred magenta flower is very recognisable, but the magenta is softer than usual, particularly round the edges of the petals.  The large flowers also have a more overlapped petal structure and the whole thing is rounder than most other similar hybrids.

The clump has a neat rootstock and produces robust, light green, leaves and strong, wiry flower stems to c. 60cm.  The first flowers normally in June, carrying on until September.

From De Bloemenhoek in Holland about 1991, named for Belgian Ivan Louette.
