(Geranium clarkei ‘Kashmir Purple’ x Geranium collinum)
AGM A mound of finely cut leaves covered with large open flowers in light purple from May to November. Unsurpassed for effectiveness. For reasonable soil in sun. 50cm.
Geranium 'Nimbus' is a good, reliable clump former, suited to growing in a herbaceous border or mixing with grasses in a more naturalistic style planting. It is robust enough to grow in amongst other plants of a similar size and it's finely cut leaves and clouds of flowers will mingle well.
'Nimbus' is also a useful cranesbill to plant around shrubs, such as roses, where it will provide a long lasting display of flowers under, and around, the bases of the woody plants. Ordinary soil, as long as it's not too dry or wet suits it well, in either full sun or partial shade.
A seedling from the research area at Cambridge University Botanic Garden found in 1979 but not available to gardeners until c. 1990.
