Clumps of softly hairy foliage and deep blue flowers in early summer to 45cm. Drained soil in sun.

Compact clumps of the slightly greyish green, rounded leaves make attractive plants for the front of a border where the pretty flowers can be admired.  The early summer flowers are rich purplish blue with pale, almost translucent "windows" in the middle of each petal giving an unusual look. May-June.

Requires well drained soil in a sunny place where it will tolerate drought once established.  A good combination with airy plants that will flower later in the summer and appreciate the attractive foliage of this cranesbill as a background.

Presumably wild collected, some say it is the same as Geranium platypetalum 'Turco'.  Introduced to the UK in about 2002.
