(Geranium sanguineum 'Ankum's Pride' x Geranium psilostemon)
Long flowering from May to September, like 'Khan', with magenta pink flowers to 40cm. Drained soil in sun. as with most hybrids of Geranium sanguineum it most closely resembles this parent giving most gardeners no idea that Geranium psilostemon is involved!
A solid, low, mounded plant ideal for mixing with shorter ornamental grasses and other Hardy Geraniums, or just growing at the front of a mixed herbaceous border. The mid green foliage makes a dense background to show off the bright magenta-pink flowers clearly, lifting the flowers from any background distractions.
Suitable for an ordinary soil that doesn't get too wet in winter, it will be drought tolerant once established. As with other forms and hybrids of bloody cranesbill, Geranium 'Tiny Monster' will tolerate some shade but tends not to flower so well as in full sun and may get a little taller.
From Rolf Offenthal, Germany, c. 1999.
