A rare subspecies with finely divided silvery grey foliage and heads of pinkish purple flowers in spring. Summer dormant. Drained soil in full sun. 20cm.
A much finer plant than the usual form with it's elegant, finely divided leaves making a loose clump from late winter till late spring when they die down for the summer dormant season. The flowers appear in late spring just before the foliage starts to die down, to 20cm, they are more pink than blue.
Even more so that other tuberous Hardy Geraniums, Geranium tuberosum ssp. linearifolium needs well drained soil in full sun to succeed well. Given maximum light it should also do well as an alpine house plant but it is also at home in the garden in a border or on a rockery or scree.
From the eastern edge of the range of Geranium tuberosum growing on rocky slopes and banks in Iran, Syria and the Caucasus.
