Lively bright lilac-pink flowers above a low carpet of evergreen leaves in late spring-early summer. Good edging plant for sun or light shade in ordinary soil. 20cm.

Another form with clear pink flowers in spring and early summer over a very even, evergreen, carpet to c. 20cm in flower, 15cm in leaf only.  It will spread slowly but steadily until it meets an obstacle and makes an ideal alternative to haveing to hand-weed under roses!

Although the foliage is evergreen it tints reddish purple in autumn and winter, and the new foliage emerges fresh green in the spring.

Not too fussy about conditions but it will not like to be waterlogged in the winter, so drained soil in sun or light shade is best.  Drought tolerant once established.
