Welcome to The Plantsman's Preference website!

We have been selling an extensive range of Hardy Geraniums and Ornamental Grasses as well as many new, rare and unusual perennials (particularly those suitable for shade) since 1996, mail order since 1998 and online since 2000.  We probably have the largest collection of Hardy Geraniums for sale in the UK, with at least 200 different varieties over the course of a year.  We also grow a small, choice, selection of shrubby plants, particularly those from the Caprifoliaceae

The most important factors in our choice of what plants we grow have always been; good garden value, growable, and possibly most important - we have to like it!  We are particularly keen that plants should get on with it without lots of fussing from the gardener so we generally do not grow anything that needs staking or deadheading!

Here on our website you can easily securely shop online and use our fab Plant Selector to help you find plants to suit your requirements or conditions.  Or you can just browse through the categories and A-Z pages.  If you have any questions please feel free to Contact Us, quickest response will be from the nursery phone number at the top of every page, please leave a message if we're unable to answer.

Don't forget to try and Visit the Nursery and see the plants in real life!

Award Winning Plants
RHS Award of Garden Merit

RHS Award of Garden Merit

The Award of Garden Merit (AGM) issued by the Royal Hoticultural Society (RHS) helps gardeners find reliable, consistent plants that will provide particularly good value in the garden.

The award is granted after trials at the RHS’ garden at Wisley in Surrey and/or assessment at specialist collections or discussion at meetings. There is a set list of criteria that plants have to meet to be deemed worthy of the AGM. For more information on the AGM please visit the RHS Website.
