Looks like a form of Geranium x magnificum but it's parentage is unknown.  Clumps of hairy leaves produce masses of deep blue flowers with darker veins in late spring and early summer.  45cm.  Drained soil in sun.

This is one of a range of similar hybrids, some are listed as Geranium x magnificum, others aren't!  A tough, hardy and reliable perennial cranesbill suitable for the front of a border or a bit further back if you have lower plants infront.  Ideal to grow on sandy or gravelly soils that tend to be a bit dry in summer, once established Geranium 'Alan Mayes' is quite drought tolerant.

Geranium 'Alan Mayes' came to us from a now defunct wholesale nursery who did not know where it originated, attempts to find out have been inconclusive so far.
