Rarely seen now, this has upright leaves, narrower than some and lots of clear pink flowers in spring to 25cm. Good autumn and winter red-purple leaf colour. Drained soil in sun or light shade.
Less spreading than some of the more common varieties so better if you have less space but still want the effect of a Bergenia. 'Oeschberg' is particularly good in flower with a lighter but still bright pink flower on strong stems.
German origin, date unknown.
