From John Tuite with larger flowers of a glistening yellow, the petals often wavy. Tall, willowy stems that shouldn't need support, grow it hard in full sun. 1.5m.

If the pale yellow forms are not bright enough for you, 'Supernova' is a bit different!  A typical autumnal yellow daisy that starts in July and carries on until the frosts.  Bidens aurea can be "Chelsea-chopped" in late May to reduce the flowering height to c. 1.2m but bear in mind that this will also delay flowering by at least a couple of weeks.

Vaguely clump forming although some customers report that they do wander on lighter soils!  We find that Bidens aurea 'Supernova' looks really good with the red flowered forms of Miscanthus sinensis and the taller blue Salvia like Salvia uliginosa.

This form was found and named at West Acre Gardens in Norfolk but the species comes from central America.

Syn. Bidens heterophylla
