Recently named species from the Transcaucasus with yellow flowers to c. 40cm so far. Apparently related to I pseudacorus but much smaller. Hardy.

So far this species seems easy to grow in good soil in sun (or probably part shade) and makes a good clump but hasn't taken off madly!  The pretty flowers are mid way between primrose and bright yellow.

Named in 2003 by Georgi Rodionenko. We originally received it labelled as Iris pseudacorus ssp mzchetica but it has now been accepted as a species on it's own.
