A deep ruby red flowered selection, our plants divisions from a particularly good one. Deep green foliage stained purple, especially on new growth. Good soil in sun. 60cm.
As with many seed raised plants it is very easy to loose the original intention which is why we produce this as a clone rather than risk producing the inferior plants that some who sell seedlings are offering.
A lovely sight in spring with it's dark foliage which continues with one of the best red flower displays we've seen from an Astrantia. As with most of the red flowered forms, do not grow Gill Richardson in any shade if you want the best colour, it will go very wishy-washy.
Please excuse my photo which is very poor and doesn't do it justice - I need to take another!
Named for the originator by a wholesale grower.
