A delightful pale yellow flowered woodlander with delicate pinnate leaves. Emerges in late winter and flowers March and April before going dormant by late summer. 25cm.
Much less commonly grown than many other species of Cardamine but not difficult, just give it a decent soil (leafmould helps!) in a shady position that gets winter rain and it should be fine. Perfectly hardy, ideal under deciduous trees or shrubs as it won't mind drier soil once dormant in mid summer to autumn.
Low growing patches, not rampantly spreading but not tight clumps either.
From woodland in the mountains of southern Europe - Alps, Apennines and Balkans.
