Sea Kale. An attractive native seaside plant with rounded grey foliage (good eating!) and strong, branched stems of white flowers to 1m. Drained soil in full sun.
One of the few British native plants that would fit well into both the ornamental garden and the vegetable garden or allotment. The glaucous grey foliage is quite striking and has few competitors in the garden. Sea Kale flowers may be small but the branched heads carry a lot of individual flowers creating a reasonable show.
Can be seen growing on the beach in various places on local coasts.
