AGM Probably the largest flowered Crocosmia, easily to 8cm across when happy. Open, narrow petalled flowers in a clear orange with a yellow throat. 80cm. Sun.
A striking plant and will sell itself when seen in flower. The orange flowers are held well above the fresh green foliage and can seem to almost dance above the border.
'Star of the East' is not the hardiest variety however and definitely benefits from a drained soil in full sun and a good mulch of bark chips or compost will ensure it returns next year.
Named by George Davison, Norfolk in 1910.
