Hybrid seedlings between these species which produce classic Angels Fishing Rods from near white, through shades of pink to near purple. Mostly 1.5m-1.8m tall. Drained but good soil in full sun.
Being seed grown these are generally good, vigorous plants and have so far produced a wide range of flower colours. Dierama can take a year or two to settle in and start flowering but these seem to be flowering quite well in pots!
Our preferred cultivation technique is to keep them a bit on the dry side overwinter, in the ground this means a well drained soil. During the growing season, particularly early summer, they do seem to appreciate plenty of moisture.
Both species are native to southern Africa.
