A British native species of Rock Rose, this makes a shrubby bush of greyish foliage and pretty creamy white flowers in spring and summer. Drained soil in full sun, trim after flowering. 30cm.

Much cleaner and more elegant than some of the hybrids with their garish flowers, this species is hardy and easy to grow given well drained soil in a sunny position on a rockery, raised bed or just at the front of the border.

Found in the wild on calcareous grassland and limestone cliffs, the UK is at the northen edge of Helianthemum apenninum's distrubution which covers much of southern Europe.
