Tight clumps of upright greyish foliage produce elegant flowers in summer, in this form of a light denim blue. Good soil in full sun. 1m.
We have found Iris missouriensis to be an excellent addition to a mixed border in good soil that does not dry out in summer. The light blue flowers look very good with the pale pink of Persicaria bistorta 'Hohe Tatra' which also appreciates the same position.
This slow growing species hails from the Rocky Mountains of north America.
Supposedly the same as Iris longipetala but they are quite different in growth and flower for us. The plant we grow as I. longipetala is more vigorous and easier!
