The wonderful old red form of this tough perennial scabious. Airy and great at mixing. Much less self-seeding than the pastel versions. Drained soil in sun, 90cm.
For many years this rich crimson red flowered form was the only one that you saw in gardens. Tightly clump forming with it's branched stems holding the flowers up and out amongst it's neighbours. Occasionally self-seeding where bare soil allows but largly staying where you plant it.
From eastern Europe. Macedonian Scabious.
Scabiosa columbaria ssp. ochroleuca£4.50
