An unusual rosette forming plant with trowel shaped deep green leaves with pale downy undersides. Palest pink daisies in spring followed by silky, fluffy seedheads to 30cm. Drained soil in sun.
Leibnitzia anandria is very rarely seen in cultivation but it's definitely worth a try if you like the more interesting. The first flowers produced in the spring are the ones to watch, later buds in the autumn will progress directly to the fluffy seedheads, which are attractive in their own right.
Also recommended as a foliage plant, the rosettes of leaves are interesting and quite different to anything else.
From the Russian far east, Korea and Japan so very hardy.
Syn. Gerbera anandria
