A rare variegated selection from Chris Ghyselen with finely white speckled leaves and spires of red flowers in summer. Compact and quite slow growing, to 1m. Light shade and good soil.
Not to be confused with the green leafed, white flowered 'White Eastfield' this is rarely seen but many visitors to the nursery have been enchanted by it. It is one of those plants that at first seems to be a bit poor, the variegation looks more like weedkiller damage than anything else on young plants! However, as the plant settle in and gets it's roots down it improves considerably so give it 3 seasons before deciding if you like it or not!
Compact growing, Persicaria 'Eastfield' is best grown in a good soil that doesn't dry out in a partly or lightly shaded site. The foliage doesn't seem to burn with us but it's probably best to avoid hot sunny sites anyway.
