A lovely elegant example of the usual wild species with well-spaced, modest lilac purple flowers with fabulous strong scent. Mid-late summer to 1.2m. Best in good soil in sun.
Ideal for heavier soils that have been well improved where it will grow strongly and healthily. Poorer and drier soils will still grow good plants but it's worth adding plenty of mulch like compost or well rotted manure.
Phlox paniculata is native to most of the eastern United States of America and some to the west.
