Clumps of evergreen foliage, each leaf with multiple narrow creamy stripes, mostly towards the edges. Rarely (if ever) flowers here. Slow. Shade, even dry. 15cm.

The Rohdeas are rarely seen in gardens in the UK not because they are hard to grow but simply because they increase so slowly in our climate. Once you have one it is likely to survive everything that the weather can throw at it as long as it's in the shade.

Japanese Sacred Lily.

The species from Korea, China and Japan.
