A green leafed form of this sterile hybrid. Clumps of lush foliage and upright stems topped with golden heads to 1.5m.

A more recent introduction with a looser habit than the well known 'Karl Foerster'.  This does not make it floppy but rather it is elegantly arching.  The flowers lack the purple flush of the older variety too, but are instead a bright, slightly silvery, golden green when new and fade to the same buff as they go to "seed".

Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Waldenbuch' actually makes a striking pairing with the more upright 'Karl Foerster', as can be seen at the RHS Garden Wisley.  The very upright and more arching forms and differing colour flowers of what appear to be the same plant give a good opportunity to see the differences.

Well suited to use in almost any garden, either as a solitary specimen or mass planted.  Best cut back to ground level in late winter as the new growth will appear early.

A hardy perennial ornamental grass that will not spread or seed. Best in ordinary soil (not too dry or too wet) in sun or a little shade.

From Germany.
