Clouds of creamy yellow flowers on tall stems on this delightful autumn flowering perennial sunflower.  Well behaved herbaceous plant for good soil in full sun. 2.4m.

An excellent flower to mix with the taller autumn flowering grasses like Miscanthus, the pale yellow flowers blend with most other colours avoiding the harsh clashes that can occur with the bright golden yellow Helianthus.

'Sheila's Sunshine' is a very tall perennial and if it is overfed it can flop by flowering time so don't apply too much rich feed or mulch.  The height can be reduced by giving it a trim in late spring, pinching out the growing tips of all or some of the stems.  The flowering time is also delayed a little by doing this.

Introduced by Niche Gardens, North Carolina, USA in 1994.  A selection of the normally golden yellow flowered north American native plant.
