Super ruffled leaves which get pale towards the edges and have a crisp, very narrow, pinkish red margin. Fairly large but not rampant.

Sometimes confused with 'Pink 'n' Curly' but this has a much larger, broader leaf and the pale margins are not present on 'Pink 'n' Curly'.

'Melanie' was found and named at the Beth Chatto Gardens in Essex in the early 1980s.
