A delightful smaller species with fresh green arching foliage and slender silky gold flowers in late summer and autumn. Needs drained soil and a warm sunny position. 1.5m.
Miscanthus nepalensis makes an attractive clump for a large container or suitable border position. Not the hardiest species it will need winter protection in colder areas, an unheated polytunnel is needed here but on the Norfolk coast it is fine in the garden. Probably reliably hardy to -5°C.
From Nepal, China.
