A cracking foliage form with broad, dark green leaves strongly striped with creamy white. Will produce fluffy pink flowers in a warm season. Dense clumps of upright stems to 2.4m+!

One of a pair of variegated forms of the giant, tropical looking, Miscanthus sinensis var. condensatus, the other being 'Cosmopolitan'.  They have reversed variegation, 'Cabaret' having most of the cream stripes in the centre of the leaf, 'Cosmopolitan' having white stripes towards the edges of the leaves.

We find that 'Cabaret' is happy in a good soil that does't get too dry, in full sun.

Japanese origin, taken to the USA in 1976 and thence to Europe later.
