A lovely fluffy white flowered form of this classic cottage garden perennial. Clumps of Aquilegia-like foliage emerge in late winter and the flowers from mid-spring to 90cm. Good soil in light shade.
Thalictrum aquilegifolium is one of those herbaceous plants that seems to appear almost overnight in mid spring with a lush clump of foliage before many other plants even start to grow. The flower buds can be seen from the second half of March.
Heads of filamentous flowers are mostly white but often have a lilac-purple base. Mostly true from seed unless you have the purple form as well!
