A medium sized deciduous shrub with arching stems well clothed with small leaves and tipped with very scented pink flowers in early summer. 2.4m but can be pruned to size. Sun, ordinary soil.

Lonicera syringantha is well suited to use in a herbaceous border where it will help provide structure year round as it's winter framework is still attractive.  The scent is generally stronger in the evening, but the flowers look good all day!

Tolerant of dry soils but obviously will do better in a decent soil.  Full sun and a warm site for the best flower.

From China and Tibet and introduced in the late 19th century.
