A delightful little subshrub with bright creamy yellow new growth that turns to silver as it matures. Umbels of white pea-flowers flushed pinkish in summer to 50cm. Drained soil in a sheltered sunny spot.
Typical of many Mediterranean plants this is hardy in most winters in the UK as long as it is grown in well drained soil and kept out of cold winter winds to protect the evergreen foliage.
Over time the plant can become a little leggy so it is a good idea to trim back by about half after flowering each year to keep it more compact. Ultimately it isn't a hugely long live plant and it is a good idea to start again from cuttings (easy) after 5 years or so.
Hairy Canary Clover! From Portugal and the Mediterranean.
