[=Venus?] A lovely neat plant with red buds opening to reveal golden yellow flowers often with red tips to 60cm. Drained good soil in sun. Some doubt about the name!
This plant matches the description of 'Venus' in the RHS monograph which also says that 'Merryman' is a synonym of that cultivar. But, an apricot-orange cultivar with little red is often sold as 'Venus' (and I've seen it as 'Merryman' too!) so it seems that the two cultivars are likely to be distinct but muddled in the trade and now we don't know which is which. Suffice to say that we really like this red and yellow one!
