Upright clumps with greyish green foliage and sprays of airy flower to 1.2m in late summer and autumn. Good golden autumn foliage stands out. Good soil in sun.

One of the more substantial types of Panicum virgatum, 'Sunburst' makes an attractive autumn addition to herbaceous borders or more naturalistic plantings.  Also being used as a (seasonal) screen in gardens where some height is wanted without blocking the view entirely.

Cut back to near ground level in late winter.
