Where we send
We send plants, safely packed, anywhere in the UK and EU. We can also send to Switzerland.
Please do not try ordering online if you are not in Europe unless you have spoken to us first as plant health regulations will almost certainly prevent us sending you anything.

Availability and Substitutes
Despite our best efforts to keep the website up to date, we cannot guarantee the availability of all plants listed. Where a plant is unavailable, we will send the balance of your order, adjusting your payment if applicable. If you would like us to pick a substitute for you instead, or to double up on other varieties, please tell us in the box on the first page of the checkout. We will never send substitutes unless asked for.

Sometimes we run out of a certain size of a plant; when this happens we will normally send an alternative size if that's possible. This may mean that you get a bigger plant for the same money, but if the plant sent is smaller or there is a big difference in size we will adjust your bill accordingly. We never send plug plants or rooted cuttings.

Ordering and Payment
Orders can be placed via the shopping cart online and payment can be made online by debit/credit cards, via online banking (BACS), using PayPal or by telephoning your debit/credit card details to the nursery for manual processing.
We have no minimum order.
Online card payments are handled for us by Barclaycard. Payments under the Barclaycard system will be taken a couple of days after you place the order once we have picked out and checked your plants, they will be dispatched as soon as we can after this.

Please allow 30 days for despatch, although most orders will be sent within a week unless you ask otherwise.
Weather conditions may affect despatch.
Please note that we do not normally send out orders over the Christmas and New Year period to avoid delays.

Mainland UK orders are mostly sent by next day courier (currently APC).
Highlands of Scotland and offshore islands may be sent by APC, Royal Mail or Parcelforce.
Export orders are normally sent by a 2-5 day road service provided by APC.  We have now been using APC for over 3 years and have found the service to be very reliable (despite what you may read online!).

You should receive an email when your order is despatched, giving you tracking details (if available). Please make use of this if you don't get your plants as soon as you expect them – and let us know promptly if plants have not arrived.
Please note that all deliveries will need signing for unless you instruct us otherwise. If you prefer, you can give alternative instructions, e.g. "leave in porch" or "leave with neighbour", at your risk. These instructions must be given during the checkout process – please note they cannot be emailed or phoned etc afterwards.

Plants are packed securely inside closed cardboard boxes (small orders may also be enclosed inside a plastic bag provided by our courier). The vast majority of our plants are sent in their pots just as you would get them if you came and picked them out yourself. Accordingly we will wrap the plant pot inside a plastic bag to stop it leaking moisture into the box, the wrapped pots will then be secured inside the box so that they cannot move and all the free space filled with recycled packing (mostly paper but polystyrene peanuts and bubble wrap are used when available).
We usually use new boxes and bags as they are known to be strong and in good condition but will use recycled ones if possible. Most of the space filling packing inside will be recycled.

Upon arrival
Please open your box as soon as possible.
In the top of the box you will find an information sheet on unpacking and planting your new arrivals.  If you have asked for a printed invoice it will be here too (or you can log into your account online and download a PDF to print)..
Please carefully check the contents of the box against your paperwork and search for any "missing" plants amongst packing material. Sometimes a solid sheet of cardboard is used to separate layers of plants in boxes and you may have a "false floor" beneath which is another layer of plants.
Please let us know promptly if anything is missing.


Privacy policy

We will not disclose your details to third parties other than when your order is processed; the courier needs your address, email and phone number. They will not disclose any of the information to any other third party.

Cookies are used to store your details (on your computer) to enable you to place orders on this site. You can turn off cookies within most webbrowsers by going to 'Tools | Options | Privacy' and selecting to block some or all cookies. If you block cookies, you may not be able to place orders or benefit from other features that use cookies on any website.


Cancellation and Returns Policies

You may cancel your order at any time up until we pack your plants. Please phone/email and write to cancel an order.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have the right to cancel orders and return goods. As plants are perishable in transit we do not consider that this right applies to orders placed with us beyond cancelling orders as described above.  For full details see:



If you have a complaint then please let us know immediately. If plants arrive in a damaged condition then we need to be told, in writing, within five days. Please save all packaging and note the time and date of delivery. We cannot be held responsible for damage caused by the deliverer or failure of the plants due to incorrect care or adverse weather after despatch.
