A pretty smaller species that seems better suited to East Anglia than some of the bigger ones. Patterned leaves and delicate apple-green flowers to 20cm. Good soil in shade.

Being a smaller plant Trillium viridescens grows from a correspondingly smaller rhizome so it's perhaps a bit of a surprise that it does well in this drier part of the country but it's definitely a good one to start with.  Not exactly fast to increase but it is good at staying where you put it!

From North America, known as the Ozark Trillium or tapertip wake robin.
