A lovely soft pink flush to the white flowers gives this a more delicate look than some of the other "pink" forms of wood anemone. Reasonable soil in shade. 15cm.
As with most of the pink forms, Anemone nemorosa 'Atrorosea' opens pure white and starts to gain a pink flush on the back of the flowers after a day or two, and in the right weather will go pink on the face later too. 'Atrorosea' is actually very similar to many of the pinker versions that can still be found growing in the wild hereabouts.
Naturally a woodlander it will do best in a drained but moistue retentive soil under deciduous trees or shrubs, in the wild they grow in places that tend to be quite damp in winter and spring before drying out in the summer. As the soil dries out in summer wood anemones will die down until the following February/March.
Unknown origin but we seem to be the only nursery selling it nowadays!
