Delightful multi-petalled, open, single flowers start white and flush rose-pink over clumps of dark green foliage. March to April. Decent soil in the shade of deciduous trees! 15cm.

Anemone nemorosa 'Axel' is a good grower that will settle in quicker than some varieties and produce a good display of sparkling flowers which stand out clearly over the deep green leaves.  As with all Wood Anemones it is adapted to grow around deciduous trees or shrubs where it gets winter moisture and can tolerate drying out and getting shaded in summer

New to us from Austria but we're not certain of it's exact origin.
