An excellent (nearly) double from Austria with lots of golden yellow sepals within an outer row of green streaked ones on top of a ruff of yellow streaked green bracts in early spring. Sun or part shade. 15cm.
Like many Wood Anemones the flowers on this form will improve after a couple of years left undisturbed in the garden. When fully out there are a few filaments in the very centre of an otherwise well filled almost double flower. The outer sepals usually are well streaked green and sometimes a little brown as well.
Found in a Castle Park in Vienna by Margot Sinning.
