From the Alpine Garden Society expedition to China in 1994 this herbaceous species produces upright stems to c. 1.4m topped with spikes of light green buds that open to ivory tinted pink flowers in summer.
An easy and hardy species with us, slowly increasing the clump size over time. Probably best in a good, rich but drained soil in sun or part shade.
Aconitum 'Blue Opal'£5.00
A plant of 3 seasons; pretty spring foliage, late summer spires of pale blue flowers and great autumn foliage colour. Average to good soil in sun or part shade. 1.2m.
Aconitum variegatum ssp paniculatum£5.00
Heads of glorious rich blue flowers on stems to 1.5m in midsummer. Rarely seen but elegant and easy enough to grow in a mixed border in good soil.
Disporopsis sp from Japan£5.00
New to us this more compact species makes neat clumps to 25cm. Like an evergreen Solomon's Seal and a useful evergreen groundcover for shade.
