Amazing glowing lavender blue flowers on dark stems clothed with deep green leaves in autumn. Strong upright habit to 1.4m. Good soil in sun.
Symphyotrichum laeve 'Nightshade' is along similar lines to the well known (former Aster) 'Little Carlow' but so much stronger in all respects; more upright, glossier and darker green leaves, dark blackish stems and larger, more intense flowers.
Looks superb with other autumn daisies and ornamental grasses such as Miscanthus and Molinia. 'Nightshade' will fit in well with modern naturalistic and meadow plantings as well as being a useful update for a traditional cottage garden herbaceous border.
Formerly Aster 'Nightshade'.
